The House itself is part of an old convent, ‘the order of Carmes’, and was built in the 11th-12th
century after the death of Cardinal Richelieu. Part of the wing has recently been renovated to a very high standard, while the older part of the building, is under renovation to incorporate a boutique and further extension and expansion to the Chambres d’Hotes. The house is situated near the main route from St Junien to Bellac and is central and extremely visible in the village of Mortemart! Adequate parking is available outside the Chambres d’Hotes as is the historic church, gardens and market hall areas of Mortemart. |
